Overview

A 1-min video about the submission of preprints to PCI

Option 1: Deposit + submit

Step 1: First, deposit your preprint in a preprint server or an open-access repository using an appropriate article template. You can choose among bioRxiv, EcoEvoRxiv, Zenodo, arXiv, OSF Preprints, etc.

Appropriate venues for preprints fulfill two conditions: 1) Providing a permanent identifier. Preprint servers should be non-commercial and provide DOIs. Open-access repositories should be referenced in OpenDOAR and provide either DOIs or permanent URLs; 2) Allowing document versioning. Other important elements to consider are scope compatibility with the platform, institutional requirements, indexation in major search engines, and the automatic display of the preprint’s recommendation or publication status.

Step 2: Choose one of our thematic PCIs to submit your preprint for peer-review evaluation. Click on “For contributors” in the top left corner and then select “submit”

Option 2: Deposit & submit

Currently, direct submissions can be done via  HAL, bioRxiv (for PCI Ecology only) or Digital CSIC

Step 1: On these preprint servers and open archives, you will find a button on the page of your preprint deposit that allows you to initiate a presubmission to a PCI corresponding to the scope of your preprint

Step 2: You will then receive an email with a link to complete your submission on the website of the corresponding PCI
